My name is Fred Trust and has collected Oz memorabilia for the past 35 years. I have a graduate degree in Computer Science and worked in the computer industry past 40 years.
In 2018, my family decided to open the Wizard of Oz museum around Orlando.
Since the Wizard of Oz is a narrow subject, to be successful, the Cape Canaveral area was chosen due to its proximity to Orlando, cruise terminals, the beach, and Kennedy Space Center.
Using my computer skills enables me to also work on creating an Immersive experience room where the museum will provide visitors to experience Wizard of Oz scenes from the books to inspire interest in visitors. Newly designed scenes are not in the movie, so they are unfamiliar to an average visitor.
The museum officially opened in February 2022 and had great success based on the visitor’s reviews. Displaying over 2000 items on display with original movie props and an Immersive Experience at the museum led to great success.
After one year of operation, the museum has over 1000 reviews on Google (4.9 stars) and two hundred 5-star reviews on TripAdvisor.
