Florida Wizard of Oz museum near Port Canaveral - Collectible Puppets

One of the Cocoa Beach attractions in the Wizard of Oz museum is the display of 1950s puppets related to the Wizard of Oz theme. On display are original backdrops and over 30 puppets from performances in the Chicago area. These puppets were custom-made by famous veteran puppeteer Bill Eubank. Bill was a member of the International Wizard of Oz club.

The spring 1965 issue of the Baum Bugle magazine dedicated the three-page – article to Bill Eubank and his Oz puppets. It displays Bill with Harry Neal Baum holding them.

Of course, some other hand puppets were produced in 1964 by Proctor and Gamble, 1967 hand puppets by Mattel, and other strings puppets. Other hand puppets were produced to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the famous MGM movie in 1989. Puppets were used through the centuries to entertain kids.

Below are images of a few items that on displayed in the museum.
